Submit your pour below. If your pour impresses Shimo-san, you could be off to Tokyo.

The Sapporo Pour

1 Take a cold chilled Sapporo glass. Pull for cold, clear beer. Pour on a 45 degree angle. Slowly straighten then stop just before the plimsoll line.

2 Push for a silky, creamy head.

Do not disappoint Shimo-san.

Why it matters

When you sample a Sapporo in Japan, you might wonder why it tastes superior. Japanese bartenders use the special two-part-pour tap to trap aroma and flavour, making for a velvety, silky head with tiny bubbles.
